Using the principle of air convection for cooling, negative-pressure fan equipment expels the hot and stuffy air from the workshop to the outside—effectively serving as a beneficial “air-exchange fan” for cooling and ventilation. We may have many questions about it—so how exactly does it eliminate odors?
First, ground deodorization. The use of negative-pressure fans in chicken houses is extremely common. Typically, a layer of superphosphate is sprayed onto the floor of the chicken house. When superphosphate reacts with ammonia produced by chicken manure, it forms odorless solid ammonium phosphate. This substance effectively reduces ammonia emissions from chicken manure. Specifically, 350 grams of ammonium phosphate are evenly distributed across the walking area for every 50 chickens.
2. Biological odor control: Many beneficial microorganisms can enhance the utilization of dietary protein, reduce ammonia emissions from manure, thereby inhibiting the formation of harmful gases in bacteria and ultimately lowering the concentration of harmful gases in the air. Currently, there are numerous types of commonly used beneficial microbial preparations (EM). The specific method of using EM depends on the product instructions and can be applied directly to feed, mixed feed, or water. Additionally, EM can also be sprayed into chicken houses to improve air quality.
3. Chemical Deodorization. Certain chemical substances also possess deodorizing properties, such as hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate, copper sulfate, and acetic acid. These substances can inhibit odors and reduce the intensity of unpleasant smells in chicken houses. Specifically, you can mix 4% copper sulfate with an appropriate amount of slaked lime into the bedding material, or spray the bedding with a 2% solution of benzoic acid or 2% acetic acid—both methods effectively help eliminate odors.
